New Features and Other Improvements
Workflow Management
Feature ID: FD-25533, FD-30366
Clausion 26.03 introduces the Workflow Management module in the Web Client, enabling you to streamline task coordination by automating permissions and UI block assignments, with clear visibility of progress through status indicators and easy reuse through cloning functionality.
Workflow Admin Management
The Workflow Management task is available in the Web Client only and can be added from the Desktop client through User Interface Management. Once added, you can open the Workflow Management screen in Web Client and click Add Workflow to start creating new workflows.
The workflow creation screen is a six-step wizard that saves data at each step, keeping the workflow in Draft status until all configurations are complete. The six steps are:
-
Workflow Properties
Enter the basic workflow properties: ID, Data Type, Period, Year (required fields), Start Date, Category, and any Instructions. These settings are automatically applied to all tasks under the workflow.
-
Select Tasks
This screen is divided into two panels. The left panel shows all available UI blocks and the right panel shows the tasks available for the selected UI blocks. All tasks under a selected UI block become part of the workflow.
Note: A UI block must be assigned to at least one role in the system before its tasks are available in the Workflow module.
-
Basic Configurations
Settings from Workflow Properties (Data Type, Period, Year, and Instructions) are automatically copied to all tasks. You only need to make changes here if task-specific configurations are required. Click on an individual task and modify its settings in the right panel. If you later change Workflow Properties after saving Basic Configurations, select the UI Blocks node and click Apply to all Tasks to propagate the changes.
-
Units and Assignments
Select the units for which workflow tasks need to be executed, and assign a Doer and Reviewer for each unit. Units are loaded based on the Data Type and Year values from Workflow Properties, and only units for which the logged-in admin has access rights are visible.
Check the top-most unit in a hierarchy to automatically copy the Doer and Reviewer to all child units. Uncheck the Inherit toggle on any individual unit to assign a different Doer or Reviewer for that unit.
Click Apply to all Tasks to copy the unit and assignment configuration to all tasks. Tasks configured this way display a Global icon. Click an individual task to configure it separately, which removes the Global icon for that task.
For tasks where unit assignment is not applicable (such as Period Locking for Roles or Custom Parameter Management), check the No Unit Assignment checkbox and assign a Doer and Reviewer separately.
If any task has no units assigned and No Unit Assignment is not checked, a warning message is displayed.
Note: To display the proper parent-child hierarchy, you must also select the parent unit when selecting child units.
-
Deadlines
Each task defaults to a due date of 14 days from the start date entered in Workflow Properties. Click on any individual task and modify the Days field to adjust the due date (Due Date = Start Date + Days).
-
Review
The Review screen shows the complete workflow configuration on a single page. Expand any task row to see the units assigned and the Doer and Reviewer. Click Save as Draft to save for later editing, or click Activate to make the workflow active.
Activating and Managing Workflows
When you activate a workflow, it becomes visible in the left navigation panel for the assigned Doers, Reviewers, and admin users. Unit permissions and data unlocking for Doers are applied after the cache is refreshed. Workflows on the landing page are sorted by creation date in descending order by default, and each workflow status is colour-coded for quick visual reference.
From the Menu icon in the Actions column on the landing page, you can edit, delete, clone, or mark a workflow as completed. Once all tasks in a workflow are done, select Mark as Completed from the Actions menu. The workflow then disappears from the active list of Doers and Reviewers.
To reuse an existing workflow configuration, click Clone from the Actions menu, enter the new workflow ID, and click OK. All configurations from the source workflow are copied to the new draft workflow. Update the Data Type, Year, Period, and Starting Date as needed, then click Apply to all Tasks to apply the new values across all tasks.
Note: Only unit rights, data unlocking for the specified period, year, unit, and template combination, and UI tasks are automatically assigned to the Doer. Data Type permissions must be provided through normal role assignment. A separate role must be assigned to the Reviewer, including the corresponding unit and data type permissions, as well as the right to open the period to be reviewed.
Workflow Execution for Doer and Reviewer
When a workflow is assigned to you as a Doer or Reviewer, a Workflow icon appears in the left navigation panel. Expanding a workflow in the navigation shows its tasks (UI blocks), and expanding a task shows the templates assigned to you.
Selecting a task or template opens the Workflow Execution screen, which is divided into two panels.
Left Panel – Assigned Units
The left panel displays the units assigned to you for the selected task, showing the Unit ID, Unit Name, and a status icon indicating current progress. Units appear in a hierarchical structure when parent-child relationships are defined, or as a flat list when no hierarchy exists. Selecting a unit loads its details in the right panel.
Right Panel – Unit Details
The right panel shows the current status (defaulting to New), the due date, the assigned Doer and Reviewer, an administrator indicator (a check icon for admin users, an X icon for non-admin users), and sections for instructions, comments, and attachments. The Save, Reject, Approve, and Open buttons are also available here.
Status flow
When a task is first assigned, its status is New. When the Doer begins work, the status changes to In Progress, granting the Doer permission to enter data for the assigned combination. Once data entry is complete, the Doer sets the status to Ready, which locks the data and removes data entry permissions until the Reviewer acts.
If the Reviewer rejects the task, the Doer moves the status back to In Progress, which automatically restores permissions. When the Reviewer approves the task, the data is permanently locked and the Doer's permissions are removed. The Approve and Reject buttons are visible to both roles but only active for the Reviewer.
Click Open from the Workflow Execution screen to navigate to the Selection screen, where the Data Type, Period, Year, and Unit values are pre-populated from the workflow. If the template has AutoOpen enabled, the Selection screen is skipped and the template opens directly. When navigating back from within a template, the Back button returns you to the Selection screen, and clicking Back again returns you to the Workflow Execution screen.
Instructions
Instructions can be defined at either the workflow level or the task/template level. If instructions exist at the task or template level, they take priority over workflow-level instructions. Instructions are read-only on the Execution screen.
Comments
Click Add Comment to add a comment to a unit task. Comments are listed with the newest at the top and display the Updated By and Updated On details. You can edit or delete your own comments. Administrators can delete any comment.
Attachments
Click Add File to attach supporting files to a unit
task, then click Upload to save them. You can upload
up to five files per unit per upload, and each file must be 1 MB or smaller.
Supported file formats are .txt, .pdf,
.doc, .docx, .xls,
.xlsx, .ppt, .pptx,
.jpg, .jpeg, and .png. Uploaded
files display the uploader's name and upload date.
Data Unlocking with Workflow
A new custom template, Data Unlocking with Workflow
(BW_ET116 / BW_DataLockingWorkflow.xlsx), is
added to support the Workflow Management module. When you activate a
workflow, entries are automatically inserted in this template for each
Doer's assigned unit, data type, year, period, and template combination.
These entries are removed when a workflow is moved to Draft, marked as
Completed, or deleted.
Note: When a user receives a UI block through a workflow, the needed periods unlock automatically. For UI blocks assigned through a role, period unlocking must be defined separately, and automatic unlocking applies only when the user opens the task via the workflow.
Note: This template is read-only.
Multi-Cell Copy and Paste in Periodizing Pattern Management
Feature ID: FD-32204
You can now copy data to multiple cells in a column simultaneously in Periodizing Pattern Management. Use the mouse to drag and select multiple cells, or use Ctrl+Down Arrow on the keyboard to extend the selection. This makes it easy to copy complex decimal values from an external Excel file and paste them directly into the periodizing pattern in one operation.
If the pasted data contains an invalid value, a validation message appears and the paste operation is cancelled. Correct the invalid value and paste again.
Spread.NET Version 19 Upgrade
Feature ID: FD-25684
The Spread.NET spreadsheet component used in the Desktop Client has been upgraded to version 19 to improve performance, security, and access to new spreadsheet processing features.
Corrected Known Issues

Resolution |
|---|---|---|
|
FD-32555 |
Web Client: Right-clicking on a template after reloading it causes a crash, resulting in a grey screen and unresponsive UI. The page has to be refreshed to recover, losing any unsaved work. |
Right-clicking on a reloaded template displays the context menu normally now without crashing the Web Client. |
|
FD-31985 |
If a large number of different currencies are in use, they cannot be edited from row 25 onwards without separately modifying the template. |
The values on the Names of Currencies tab are now editable by default starting from row 35 onward as well. |
|
FD-31875 |
In Internal Data Transfer (IDT), the source data (accounts and dimensions) is validated before the data is filtered, which causes accounts that are not intended to be transferred to generate unnecessary validation messages. |
The IDT validation now only validates accounts and dimension members that will actually be included in the final transfer dataset after all filters, including organizational, account, and other dimensional filters, have been applied. |

FD-26000 |
Desktop Client: When the Desktop Client is connected to the Platform, an error message is shown in the About Information view instead of the environment name. |
The About Information view in Desktop Client now displays the environment name. |
